Immediate requirement – research assistant and in person executive support
Journalist, author, former war reporter, wheelchair user and reservist army captain Peter Apps is seeking one or more part-time research/personal assistants with immediate start for new book and wider project in London likely to include party conferences and potential further travel. Driver preferred and should be happy delivering combined personal and administrative support. Payment from thirty pounds an hour depending on experience and availability, additional benefits negotiable. Likely mix of in-person and remote support.
The book project is entitled “BATTLE FOR THE WORLD: The New Long Fights of the Drone and AI age” so interest in geopolitics, technology and contemporary relations is valued. Particular preference for those who are flexible in timing and open to adventurous travel, and who have the charisma and drive to support reporting and business ventures. NOTE: this is not a care role: this individual already has a high functioning elite overnight personal care team.
Immediate requirement – personal trainer and exercise partner
High performing wheelchair using journalist, author and adventurer Peter Apps is also seeking a personal trainer and exercise partner for his own rehabilitation goals to maximise both cardiovascular and muscular fitness (largely paralysed from the shoulders down in 2006, he has recovered some arm function and is keen to maximise recovery further recovery and health).
He is looking for someone both able to offer their own advice on training and nutrition work with physiotherapists and other health professionals. He will be in London until mid-October and then maybe shift to Australia from mid October onwards – seeking individuals in both locations. There may also be opportunities for those prepared to travel with him. Payment dependent on experience – very open to combining with the research assistant role. Open to both short-term contractors while remaining in London as well as much longer term dynamics.
Ongoing potential opportunities for experienced spinal or other associated care staff Peter is also currently seeking one or more full-time individuals to join his existing highly experienced full-time live in spinal care team. This opportunity likely comes with travel and other opportunities and he is open to individuals based in both Europe and Australia/the Pacific. Spinal cord injury care experience preferred although training can be offered particularly to those with pre-existing physiotherapy, paramedic or other experience and qualifications.
